Visit David on...

Home

Welcome! This is the professional web site of David A. Curry, CISSP. Please use the links in the Navigation bar on the left to browse around this site, or to visit my presences on other sites.

PDF copies of all of my publications, as well as the full text to my first book, Using C on the UNIX System, are available from the Publications page. I expect to have the full texts for UNIX Systems Programming for SVR4 and UNIX System Security: A Guide for Users and System Administrators available later this year.

The source code for some of my more (in)famous and popular software applications is available from the Software page. For various reasons, I no longer maintain any of these programs. However, in cases where somebody else has picked up support for one of the applications, I have provided a link to their site.

Although there's some generic personal (or at least non-professional) stuff on the Fun Stuff page, you won't find family photos and videos on this site, principally because Google Sites does not currently provide me with any way to control access to those things. I've chosen to put them on my Facebook page instead which, while certainly not the be-all end-all solution, at least gives me the basic controls I want.

If there's something else in particular that you're looking for, please feel free to contact me.

Bits in the Wind "Theme Song"

with apologies to Kerry Livgren and Kansas
Sung to the tune of "Dust in the Wind"

I click my mouse, Google’s feeling lucky and the search returns
All these sites, pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Bits in the wind, all they are is bits in the wind

Blogs and Tweets, adding to the drivel in an endless sea
Pop-up ads, YouTube, Facebook, LOLcats, torrents, spam, and porn
Bits in the wind, all they are is bits in the wind

Once it’s linked, a posting lasts forever on the World Wide Web
A zillion sites, sucking all your bandwidth till the end of time
Bits in the wind, all they are is bits in the wind

Bits in the wind, everything is bits in the wind

Site News

06/19/09  I've created a logo for the site. The cloud is blowing to make wind. There's a bunch of binary bits inside the cloud. Bits In The Wind. Get it? By the way, the bits are the ASCII codes for 'B', 'I', 'T', and 'W'.

05/04/09  I've added a new page called Fun Stuff, which contains random things I'd like to share with people but that don't have a page of their own. Stuff will get added to this page as time goes on.

04/28/09  I've made some of my more famous and popular software available for download. In cases where someone else has picked up support for the software, I've provided links to their sites as well.

04/04/09  The full text of my first book, Using C on the UNIX System, including the example programs, is now available for download.

02/25/09  PDF copies of all my publications, except for my books, are now available from the Publications page. I hope to have the books online in the coming months.
